The right for Part 107 Pilots to fly at night without waivers

The Issue

Problem: The FAA requires certified remote pilots to acquire a waiver/permit for commercial nighttime operations. The amount of time that the FAA takes to process these requests (sometimes months) is unacceptable. In addition, nighttime operations are authorized for non commercial purposes.

FAA certified pilots should be allowed to fly at night without submitting ridiculous amounts of paperwork, and long approval times.
