Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying their early start to the weekend! However, with the announcement of the snow day, TJ Math Team would not be able to travel to the annual Harvard - MIT Math Tournament (HMMT) in Boston, Massachusetts. As a member of math team, this is an incredibly disappointing thing to hear, as math team has prepared for months ahead of time, putting in time after school, during weekends, and during holidays and breaks. Members of math team have also paid over $7000 dollars individually, not to mention the amount paid by Academic Boosters for Amtrak costs, hotel costs, registration costs, and more. This competition brings approximately 700 students from around the nation, and overseas, and the TJ math team has been preparing for this competition all year. We would be very dismayed if FCPS would not allow us to travel to Boston for HMMT, and I would appreciate it very much if you could take a moment to sign the following petition that we could present to Dr. Glazer, the School Board, or whomever we may need to show to perhaps help our case.
