Our next Friends of Markham Hill meeting will be this Wednesday, January 16 from 6-7:00pm at my house at 1663 W Halsell Rd in Fayetteville. We will discuss our request for an appeal of the two Markham Hill rezonings that Rob Karas initiated with the Washington County Circuit Court and how we can help. Also, we will discuss my idea that some of the Fayetteville Bond Package money for the Park Improvements issue can go to purchasing the 144-acre Markham Hill property from RMD Properties at the appraised value for a permanent nature and wildlife preserve within Fayetteville (and possible reuse of Pratt Inn for art studios and needed exhibition hall). We can also discuss any other news we may have about Markham Hill as well as the University of Arkansas' and City of Fayetteville's development frenzy at the expense of our residential neighborhoods, urban forests, and green space. Please come to the meeting if you live locally. You can park at 1666 and 1641 Halsell Rd when my driveway fills up.
