The first reading of City Council on Markham Hill is Sept 18. There's a letter from Seth Mim's of Specialized REG that they won't ask for a vote that night. The second reading on Markham Hill is Oct 2. The City Council may vote to not do a third reading on Oct 16 but to vote on Oct 2. Mayor Jordan said he takes full blame for his staff not updating that website link with the incorrect starting date.
So, pass the word, we need the room packed with people on all three dates of Sept 18, Oct 2, and Oct 16, opposing the PZD changes and the RSF-4 rezoning. I believe if enough public opinion is against the PZD changes and the rezoning, the City Council won't approve them. Also, if we all ask Specialized REG to put all 144 acres in a conservation easement to protect the land, they will do this because they can still make a fine profit off the sale of the Pratt Inn, Event Barn, and Julian's house.
I believe people's humanity and kindness can rise above the desire for money.
