Peaceful Protest March on Tuesday 2nd February 2021.

Te Roroa ( the hapu in charge of the Puketiti Occupation ) and SOS will be taking part in a peaceful Protest March on Tuesday 2nd February 2021.

Anyone in the community who has the time and wishes to join us will be very welcome.

We will be meeting at 11.00am at the roundabout between Te Ti beach and Waitangi ( on the way to the big countdown ). There should be carparks available down Te Kemara street, ( the street with the kindergarten and scout den near countdown ).

The Labour party will arrive around midday and we will walk into the lower Marae just before that. We will not be crossing the bridge so it will not be a long walk. Unfortunately due to covid Jacinda Ardern and the Maori party will not be present this year.

We would like everyone to wear a mask and social distance please. There will be spare masks available for those who do not have one and hand sanitiser.
Any elderly people who wish to, can sit in the cool under a tree in the Marae.

If it is hot, please bring a sunhat, umbrella and water. Bring signs if you wish e.g. protect Puketiti, Puketiti sold without  notification, Puketiti sold to Chinese developer by FNHL, Stop the reclamation south of Ashby's yard etc 
The protest should take approximately 1 hour.

I have just checked the online protest and we now have 890 signatures and that does not include the 100 original written signatures. WOW!
