Hello Everyone,
By now, most of us have probably seen the news about the proposed changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), including the retrospective application and the new earned settlement criteria. These are significant changes that could affect many people.
I’m writing to encourage everyone to take some time to read the consultation document that explains these proposals:
Earned Settlement Consultation – GOV.UK
It’s equally important that as many people as possible respond to the consultation, not just for themselves, but also by asking family members, friends, and even those who may not be directly affected by the earned settlement rules, or who already have ILR or are British citizens, to respond if they share the same concerns.
The consultation is also a chance to push back on how some of the rules would apply to dependent family members, which could affect a large number of people, including, in some cases, children.
The “Respond Online” link is available on the same page. The survey is mostly multiple-choice, with a few spaces for optional comments at the end of each section. It should take no more than 10–15 minutes to complete.
Every response truly counts. Sharing your views can make a real difference, and it’s important that everyone who may be affected has their voice heard. Please take a moment to read through the proposals and submit your response as soon as you can.
Thank you for your time, support, and participation.
