Thank you, truly, to every single one of you who has supported this cause. In just five and a half days, we are going strong towards the 50,000 mark across diverse communities that have come together.

But this is just the beginning. We’re not just raising our voices to gain ILR. We’re standing up for our families, our children’s futures, and the basic fairness we all believed in when we came here.

The UK government’s move to apply the 10-year ILR rule retrospectively is deeply unfair and incredibly distressing. It changes the rules for thousands of us who made huge life decisions in good faith, trusting the system, building careers, and making the UK our home.

This isn’t about asking for favors. It’s about staying true to what was communicated. It’s about justice.

We were there when the UK needed us most, after Brexit, through COVID, and during times of serious worker shortages. We gave our best. We worked hard. We paid taxes. We helped the country move forward.

And now?

We’re being told that the 5-year ILR route we were working toward is no longer ELIGIBLE. What isn’t being understood is that we will have to rely on employer sponsorship again, with no certainty about whether they will support the extended timeline, causing us to lose jobs and have to leave the UK, potentially triggering a Brexit-like shortage of skilled workers.

It has left us anxious and exhausted emotionally, financially, and mentally.

This isn’t just about policy. It’s about people - for fairness, for our families, and for the future we were promised.

This is our time to speak - loudly, clearly, and together.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO NOW

  1. CONTACT MPs: spread the word
  2. WATCH OUT FOR THE UPDATE ON PETITION TO THE UK GOVERNMENT & PARLIAMENT
      • THE PETITION ON THE UK GOVERNMENT & PARLIAMENT PORTAL IS UNDER APPROVAL, AND WE’LL NOTIFY YOU THE MOMENT IT’S LIVE. Once live, support and share it widely with every eligible family member, friend, and ally.
      • Why Supporting the Petition Matters
        • A petition on the Parliament website means official recognition
        • It proves mass public support — brings media attention
        • At 10,000 signatures, the government must respond
        • At 100,000, the petition becomes eligible for a Parliament debate
  3. MOBILIZE PUBLIC SUPPORT - Speak to the general public and raise awareness about this unjust precedent to build widespread support.

Let’s speak. Let’s stand. Let’s be heard.
