PETITION Update May 17th -Comment of support for Professor Teo from Kristy.
This petition for Professor Teo is TRENDING online! Let’s keep it going!
🗣 We all at Dr Charlie Teo - Show Your Support - Tributes & Stories. Want to highlight some important Supporter Comments from the current petition- But most of all to bring him home 🏡 where he belongs.
Dr Teo has his FULL LICENSE to operate in Australia and has always offered patients surgery in the Public System for FREE.
🧐Dr Teo’s restrictions of needing a Supervisor of only 15 years (for a 40+ year experienced surgeon absolutely makes no sense) and for recurring and brain stem tumours, that’s the only restriction.
🧠What about every other Brain Tumour?
🧠What if it’s not recurring?
🧠What if it’s not located in the Brain Stem?
🧠Why hasn’t any Hospital or Neuro EMT meetings agreed to ANY family for Dr Teo to operate under Medicare in Australia for free?
🧠Why? Because it’s upto other Neurosurgeons!
🧠Why? Because then they have to agree they may have been to risk adverse.
🧠Why? Because it’s going to open up exactly what’s occurring in the Neurosurgery field.
🧠Why? What financial gain do they have if another Neurosurgeon fixes their patients issue or extends their life without just surviving on chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
🧠Why? Because then they may have to readjust their original plan they had without involving you or your family but instead include a bunch of Neurosurgeons who don’t know you.
🧠Why, Fear of the unknown….fear of change….fear to thinking outside the box….FEAR and JEALOUSY.
Key Hole Surgery gives the patient (and surgeon) the ability to reduce infection risks, csf leaks, not use painful staples rather stitches, avoiding bone delaminating, reduces painful scar tissue, reduces brain swelling and necrosis, reduces pain medications which avoids nausea, reduces the after effects of a brain bleed, provides children and the elderly the “option” to fight and have access to Brain Surgery… BUT most of all for MEDICAL ADVANCEMENTS for the Australian and First Nations People and their families.
That’s just 10 quick reasons that come to mind…..There are soooooooo many times we are asked why is this happening, That’s why…… And so much more.
🗣Not one person or an adequately trained Neurosurgeon has (even during the hearing) stated Professor Teo is not a good Neurosurgeon, actually quite the contrary! The support and understanding of Dr Teo’s skills are highly recommended and advancements made are supported across the Neurology Community and beyond.
👂Let’s start listening to the Australian and Brain Tumour Community. Not those with an invested interest or conflict of interest.

🙏Thanks KRISTY for the below feedback on the current PETITION🙏
“My understanding is that Dr Teo is no longer allowed to operate in Australia due to the (government/medical board/other Drs?) determination that his approach gives rise to an unacceptable level of risk of adverse outcomes for patients.
🖐But here’s the thing: The patients he operates on are those who have been told by every other surgeon that there’s nothing they can do, their cancer is inoperable. Or that the only operation that can be done will not prolong their life for long.
🙏So for these patients, their risk of dying is already 100%. They have brain cancer that is going to kill them soon, because no one will operate. It is therefore difficult to understand why Dr Teo is not allowed to perform surgeries that have the potential to either cure, or significantly improve the lifespan and/or health span of a patient. Regardless of the level of risk. Because these patients are already facing a 100% risk of imminent death, prior to seeing Dr Teo.
🖐Now factor in that data shows Dr Teo has actually had incredible success with a huge number of patients around the world, and the Australian ban becomes nonsensical.
🖐As long as the patient is informed of the risks, it should be their decision whether or not to go ahead with surgery by Dr Teo. He is accredited, he has more experience with difficult brain surgeries than most other surgeons, he is awarded, he is a brilliant surgeon, and his services are needed in Australia.
🖐Please stop the petty squabbling over definitional nuances and inadequate standards that don’t recognise the value of outliers - it’s demeaning to the medical profession and not in patients’ best interests.
🙏Please reinstate Dr Teo’s right to perform neurosurgery in Australia”
