"Faith Communities Call for Compassionate Immigration Reform and Prayer for the President
The Issue
To: The President of the United States
We, the undersigned, are followers of Jesus Christ who love our country, respect your leadership, and pray regularly for you. We cannot begin to imagine the weight of the responsibility you carry daily, and we want you to know that we are lifting you up in prayer, asking God to strengthen, protect, and guide you in every decision.
We are people of faith who believe in both the power of prayer and the responsibility to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). With compassion, conviction, and hope, we call upon the President of the United States to ensure that immigration policies reflect the values of justice, mercy, and dignity for all human beings—especially the most vulnerable among us: children, families, and asylum seekers fleeing violence or persecution.
Our Appeal:
The Scriptures compel us to care for the foreigner, the orphan, and the widow (Deuteronomy 10:18), to welcome the stranger (Matthew 25:35), and to act justly on behalf of those without a voice (Proverbs 31:8-9). In light of ongoing reports of harsh detentions, family separations, and inconsistent enforcement, we are burdened to speak out as people of faith and as citizens.
We urge the President to:
✅ Ensure compassionate and humane immigration enforcement practices that respect the dignity of every individual.
✅ End policies that result in unnecessary family separation, trauma, or the detention of children.
✅ Work toward comprehensive immigration reform that includes a fair pathway to citizenship, especially for Dreamers and long-standing community members.
✅ Partner with churches and faith-based organizations in caring for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, recognizing our history of serving the vulnerable.
Our Prayer:
We also write not only to appeal, but to intercede.
We pray for President Trump:
That he would be guided by wisdom, truth, and compassion.
That he would seek righteous counsel and courage in policymaking.
That he would lead this nation in ways that promote human dignity, unity, and healing.
We do not speak out of anger or division but out of love for our country, concern for the vulnerable, and our commitment to be light in a darkened world (Matthew 5:14-16).
We invite people of all faiths and goodwill to sign this petition—to call for just action, and to lift up our President in earnest prayer.
“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.” — Deuteronomy 10:18
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
