Chimney to be saved!

After a report that there was an article in Charlotteagenda.com (which the person nor myself could find) and another report that it might be saved, I walked over to the mill where I had seen several workers. When I asked what was to become of the smokestack, I was told that it was not going to be torn down. I immediately sent out emails to various executives at Faison and Wintergreen Capital for confirmation. Chris Poplin, CFO of Faison Enterprises, said they did not have any plans to demo the mill chimney. I am thrilled!! Thank you for your interest and pride in our neighborhood. The petition allowed me to find a definitive answer when my research provided none. I am grateful for my fascinating study into the mill history of Meckleburg County.
