PATIENT PREMIUMS SHOULD GO TO PATIENT CARE

For too long, big dental insurance companies have lined their own pockets by taking advantage of patients. They have made it harder for people to get the care they need, and dentists are advocating to deliver more access, more transparency, and more value for your smile through accessible dental care. Patients deserve to know how their dollars are spent.

Put simply, patient premiums should go to patient care. As much as 40% of patient premium dollars go to executive compensation, bonuses, administrative expenses, and corporate profits, instead of being directed to patient care. This bill will reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients.  And by reducing out-of-pocket costs for patients, not only will dental care be more affordable, but it will also encourage more people who wouldn’t normally go to the dentist to get dental care.
