I’ve put 25 years of blood, sweat and tears into animal rescue AHAR FOUNDER SUZANNE GIBBONS BREAKS kerryman.newspaperdirect.com To their credit the RTE Investigates Unit have exposed a few horrendous stories in recent years. But their "expose" last week on AHAR was NOTHING more than a witch hunt, based on one sided opinions half truths and downright lies. They never mentiond that AHAR had been audited by the charities regulator and didn't even bother to travel to Kerry to see for themselves what is going on. In other words the whole report was NOTHING other than "Tabloid Television". If RTE want to do a MEANINGFUL investigation into how charities are being ran in this country, they might want to question how so many of them can justify paying their boards of directors salaries of well over €100,000 a year. They might also want to question the morality of the government subjecting charity text message donations to 24% VAT... Yes you read that correctly folks. The government are literally robbing the countrys poor boxes.
