The Issue

Merelize van der Merwe (@Merelizevdm) has 80,600 likes and 97,700 followers on Facebook.

On her "public figure" page, this monster shares images of the endangered species she massacres. Amongst them are giraffes, elephants and leopards.

She also shares imagery and videos of herself covered in blood, of dead children and her and her fellow barbarians chopping up their victims.

Why does Facebook, a supposed site with family values, allow this? Instead, they should do the decent thing: Ban her.

In February, 2021 after she mercilessly massacred a giraffe after she was given the ‘opportunity’ to kill it as a Valentine’s Day gift by her heartless husband, Merelize van der Merwe decided to use 'Scatterlings of Africa' by Johnny Clegg OBE as the tune to accompany a 1:34-minute video she uploaded to YouTube of the killing.

Fortunately now, after an eagle eyed reader of The Steeple Times contacted Johnny Clegg’s son, YouTube have now intervened and ‘Merelize The Monster’s’ gruesome attempt at self-publicity has been removed on the basis of copyright infringement.

We join those thanking YouTube for acting swiftly and, again, we remind Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg and ex-Deputy Prime Minister turned Facebook PR honcho Nick Clegg to do the decent thing: Wash the blood from your hands, remove Merelize van der Merwe from your site and send her to social media Siberia.

Furthermore, in December 2023, Merelize van der Merwe remains on Instagram also. On that platform, from which she should also be banished, she shares pictures of herself with many other animals she has massacred. This wastrel woman must not be allowed to continue to share such offensive content into 2024. Enough is enough; it is time for all social media channels to ban her for once and for good.
