How often is for host of WDS to present GOLD CARDS worth around 100.000 Euro for 91 FCI delegates ?? It doesn't taste good in our opinion, wouldn't be better to spend the money for vet care for those poor animals saved from torture ?? The money being spent on the FCI’s 91 delegates would be much better used on implementing concrete measures to approve the appalling dog welfare in the country. Instead, the NKC asks that the China Kennel Union donates the money assigned the NKC to a an animal welfare organization that actively works to improve dog welfare in China. The letter also lists several concrete measures towards the betterment of dog welfare in China the total cost of these gold cards would cover - approximately 100.000 EURO (based on Norwegian costs). - It is not in good democratic practice to accept these kinds of gifts, and the Norwegian Kennel Club would never use this VIP-card. Knowing the desperate need for resources for the improvement of dog welfare in China, these “gold cards” leave a bad taste in my mouth. We expect all other kennel clubs to react accordingly to this gift, and refrain from using it, says NKC’s CEO Ms Trine Hage.
