Published 08.07.15Last updated 08.07.15 The NKC faces suspension The FCI is threatening the Norwegian Kennel Club with suspension for up to two years for their committment to dog welfare In a recent letter to the NKC the FCI’s legal representative requests that the NKC officially withdraws its encouragement to FCI members to abstain from participating in the WDS2019 in China. If not the FCI will consider sanctions such as warning or suspension. The FCI argues that the NKC has failed to comply with FCI statues, regulations, circulars and decisions, and acted against the spirit of the FCI. In a board meeting yesterday the NKC decided not withdraw its standpoint in this matter. - Standing by our statement is what the NKC consider as being loyal to the FCI Statutes:” ... to promote and support dogdom and dog welfare worldwide.” We are committed to our members, our statutes, FCI Statutes and last, but not least, dog welfare, says CEO Trine Hage. The NKC's formal reply in this matter has been sent to the FCI and the FCI legal representative.
