Extradite Arjun Sharma and Bring Justice for Nikitha Godishala

Extradite Arjun Sharma and Bring Justice for Nikitha Godishala
The Issue
On January 3, 2026, 27-year-old Nikitha Godishala was found dead in her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in Columbia, Maryland. She had been reported missing just hours earlier by the man now suspected of killing her, Arjun Sharma, who fled the country that same day.
According to police, Sharma stabbed Nikitha multiple times and then boarded a flight to India from Dulles International Airport. By the time investigators connected the dots and executed a search warrant, he was already gone.
Nikitha was a beloved daughter, friend, and respected data analyst at Vheda Health. Her life was taken violently, and without immediate action, justice could be denied.
Howard County police have secured an arrest warrant and are working with federal authorities, including the FBI and Interpol, to issue a Red Notice and pursue extradition. But extradition is not automatic, and delays in high-profile international cases like this are common.
We cannot let that happen.
We are calling on the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of State, and relevant agencies to:
- Prioritize the extradition of Arjun Sharma from India
- Work with Indian authorities to ensure he is returned to the United States for prosecution
- Publicly commit to seeking justice for Nikitha and protecting future victims from similar acts of violence
- Femicide and intimate partner violence should never be allowed to cross borders without consequences.
The international community must cooperate swiftly when a woman is killed and her accused murderer attempts to flee accountability.
Nikitha deserves justice. Her family deserves answers. And the public deserves to see this case pursued with urgency and integrity.
Sign this petition to demand that the United States do everything in its power to bring Arjun Sharma back and hold him accountable for the murder of Nikitha Godishala.
