Extend the 411 Bus to Fieldcommon – Affordable, Reliable and Accessible Travel for Our Community

Fieldcommon is currently underserved by public transport. The only direct service is the 461, which:

• Costs around £3 each way (about £6 return, depending on the journey)
• Doesn’t accept Oyster or contactless daily caps
• Often runs unreliably
• Doesn’t start until 7.45am and finishes around 9pm – leaving commuters, schoolchildren and those with hospital appointments without an early or late option

The 411, on the other hand, is frequent (every 15 minutes), reliable, runs from just after 5am until late at night, and goes all the way into Kingston – serving shops, businesses, Kingston Hospital, and onward train links. However, it currently stops short at Molesey Central Avenue.

We are calling on TfL to extend the 411 into Fieldcommon. The estate already has bus stops and infrastructure in place thanks to the existing 461 route. Extending the 411 would add just 10 minutes to the journey but would:

• Make travel more affordable with capped daily fares using contactless
• Provide a regular, reliable service for everyone – from school pupils to commuters and those attending healthcare appointments
• Improve access to jobs, education, shops and services in Kingston

This is a simple, practical change that TfL can make if enough local people call for it.
