I, like many others in Swanage, depend on public transportation to get by due to circumstances such as not being able to afford a car. Being isolated, we primarily find employment in hospitality; but, there’s more to us than the jobs available locally. Our potential remains untapped due to lack of connectivity with larger employment hubs like Wareham.

Currently, our town is not directly connected to the main train line. This not only hinders our career opportunities but also limits the scope of our town's growth. According to the Office of Rail and Road, in 2019-2020, Wareham's average annual passenger entries and exits totalled nearly 136,000. Imagine the boost to Swanage's economy with similar numbers pouring in!

By connecting Swanage to the main train line, we not only improve the economic possibilities for our residents but also ensure the socio-economic development of our town by drawing in tourists and new businesses. Let us voice our needs to the appropriate transportation authorities.
