I recently moved into a new home in Tucson, Arizona in 2022, with high hopes for a fresh beginning. But my hopes were quickly dimmed, not by any flaws of my new abode, but by a significant issue in internet connectivity provided solely by Cox Communications. My work-from-home routine has been severely disrupted by frequent internet disruptions, impeding my ability to conduct day-to-day business operations smoothly.

Unfortunately, this experience is not unique to me. Other residents of Tucson have been enduring similar problems, suffering the insufficient customer service and subpar internet service provided by Cox Communications. We are calling for authorities to look into these ongoing issues and consider allowing other internet service providers such as Xfinity to serve within the Tucson city limits as a viable alternative.

According to a report from BroadbandNow, around 113,000 people in Tucson only have access to one or two wired internet providers, leaving them with no options to switch when they are dissatisfied with the service (BroadbandNow, 2021). Bringing Xfinity into our area would not only offer us a choice in service providers but could also inspire Cox Communications to improve their service in the face of healthy competition.

Our city deserves choice and reliable service when it comes to internet connectivity. Please, let's bring about a change that can vastly improve our daily lives and productivity. Sign this petition to urge our local authorities to open Tucson city limits to Xfinity.
