Express Bus Service from Banksmeadow / Botany to the Sydney CBD

The issue

We Need & Deserve Direct and Efficient Public Transport!

Residents and professionals in Banksmeadow, Botany and the surrounding areas are experiencing unnecessary and inefficient travel times into Sydney's city centre.

Despite our proximity, the increased interest in the Botany / Banksmeadow area the lack of direct public transport options forces us to endure lengthy commutes, transfers, and delays, impacting our daily lives and work productivity. As our communities continue to grow, the demand for better transport solutions becomes even more critical.

Why an Express Bus Service is Essential:

Current Inefficiencies: The existing 309 route, which goes to Green Square, falls short of providing a seamless commute. Green Square is already a high-density area, facing its own challenges with train capacity and reliability.
Moreover, extending our journey to Redfern for a city connection is far from a direct route, leading to unnecessary travel time and complications.

Growing Demand: The Banksmeadow and Botany areas are rapidly evolving, with increasing residential development and a constant influx of professionals who work in the city. The absence of a direct bus service not only inconveniences current residents but also overlooks the potential for future growth and needs.

A Logical Solution: Establishing an express bus service from Banksmeadow and Botany directly to the city would significantly reduce travel time,
providing a much-needed alternative to the current convoluted routes. This service would benefit a wide range of commuters, including professionals, students, and anyone who travels to the city for leisure or business on a weekday or weekend.

Our Proposal: We call on Transport for NSW and the NSW Minister for Transport to:

Implement an Express Bus Service: Launch a new, direct bus service from Banksmeadow and Botany to key city locations, ensuring a faster and more reliable commute for thousands of residents.

Review and Revise Current Routes: Re-evaluate the efficiency of existing public transport routes from our area to the city, with a view to reducing travel times and improving connectivity.Plan for the Future:
Recolonise and plan for the growing transport needs of Banksmeadow, Botany, and surrounding areas as part of Sydney’s broader transport strategy.
