As a longtime resident of South Gate, I am deeply concerned about the alleged financial corruption and malpractice within our city council. I fear that our tax money is being misused and that some council members are serving beyond their legal terms. It is disheartening to see scarce resources go to waste while our city could instead be using these funds for much-needed public goods and services. We need an investigation into these allegations to ensure that those responsible are held accountable, and our funds are put to better use. Restoring public trust in our institutions is critical to the progress of our community. Let us push for transparency, accountability, and upright governance. City of South Gate received a 2.3 million grant for so called park renovations. All that was completed was replacing 3 broken slides and new playground floor, they kept the same rusty swing set and same faded little fire truck and don’t get me started on the broken push button game. The police department got new atv’s, and if you go to the city’s website you can see where 65% of the budget is going towards salaries and benefits. We need change, it’s been going on for way too long!
