This issue hit close to home for many of us in Spring, TX, especially as it involves our dear friends. There is a student in our school (Spring early College Academy)who has consistently been making females uncomfortable by inappropriately touching them and making unsettling comments. Not only has he violated personal boundaries, but he also disregarded the concept of consent. He even went as far as making distressing advancements towards one of our close friends.

According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), one in three women in the U.S. experience some form of contact sexual harassment at some point in their lives. Schooled, an institution meant for learning and growth, should be a safe space for every student. Such insensitivity and predatory behavior cannot and should not be tolerated. The safety, comfort, and honor of students should always be a school's topmost priority.

We call upon the administration of our school and the Texas Education Agency to take immediate action against this student for creating an unsafe and disruptive learning environment. It is time to ensure that subsequent generations of students learn in a secure and respectful environment. Your support can lead to justice for the victims and a safer school environment for everyone. Therefore, we urge you to sign this petition.
