In a world where we are supposed to be advocating for safety and justice, an individual who has been reported to East Carolina University administration over 8 times for sexual assault is still present within the bounds of our beloved school. I engaged in a confrontational incident at an off-campus ECU party against this individual, widely reported for his alarming predatory behaviors. As the person standing up against such horrific actions, I am now facing possible expulsion for "endangering and harassing".

According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), an American is sexually assaulted every 73 seconds, yet many cases go unjudged due to a lack of actions from authorities. Unfortunately, ECU appears to follow this troubling pattern. Despite multiple allegations against the individual in question, there seems to be no hindrance to continue his education at ECU, potentially causing distress and danger around the community.

By standing idle, East Carolina University is disregarding the psychological and physical safety of its students, which should be a primary concern for any educational institute. We urge the administration to conduct an in-depth investigation into the repeated allegations and take adequate disciplinary action, including expulsion if warranted, against this individual. Let's make ECU a safer place where education and student welfare are prioritized over shielding the wrongdoers.
