Thanks to your support and taking action, this petition to expel Cuba from the UN Human Rights Council has amassed over 800 signatures. Please share it with others.

International human rights organizations from Europe, Africa, and Asia have signed this petition, and we are grateful for their solidarity.

We are highlighting four:

Hillel Neuer, of the Geneva based United Nations Watch (UN Watch), has signed the petition. UN Watch successfully led the efforts to expel Libya from the UN Human Rights Council in 2011, and Russia in 2022, is backing this initiative. [ It is important to also point out that they initiated the effort to expel Cuba in 2011 along with other gross and systematic human rights violators, and inspired this petition.]

Ahmed Samih, of the Cairo based Andalus Institute for Tolerance and anti-Violence Studies, that played an important role in Egypt during the Arab Spring has signed on to this initiative.

Dr. Yang Jianli, of Citizen Power Initiatives of China, who accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of Liu Xiaobo in 2010, signed the petition.

Finally, we have learned that Martin Lessenthin, of the Frankfurt based, International Society for Human Rights has announced that Cuba's membership on the UN Human Rights Council is "obsolete" and is also calling for Cuba's removal from the international human rights body.
