We are a small business owners in an area marred by inadequate road infrastructure, a problem that has been a drag on our livelihood. Possessing no solid pathway, our operations are consistently impeded. The lack of a proper road is, however, not a problem that is limited to our business. There is a college situated on the same route and countless students savvy the difficulty of commuting daily due to this infrastructure deficit. The college headmaster, however, refuses to allow the construction of a basic road, citing a preference for a highway, which is an impossibility given the constraints of our locality.

This situation not only undermines the development of our business and disrupts the students' daily commute, but also challenges the principles of equality and freedom of movement, guaranteed under Article 19 of the Indian Constitution. It is reported that the roads in India facilitate over 60% of freight and 85% of passenger traffic (India Brand Equity Foundation, 2020). Given these statistics, the necessity and benefits of a road become irrefutably clear.

We are therefore seeking legislative intervention to expedite the construction of a road that can accommodate our business, the students, and the public in general, in accordance with the applicable Indian road construction laws.
