Expedite Legal Relief for Mentally & Physically Challenged, Especially Elderly Citizens
The Issue
This petition commences with a touching, personal tale. My youngest brother, who is 67 years old, has been suffering from severe schizophrenia since 1976. Due to numerous procedural and bureaucratic obstacles, he has not been able to receive his rightfully sanctioned Disability Pension since 2016, which has further critically worsened his mental state. I firmly believe that there are countless cases like his across the world.
In a contemporary, civilized society, it is our duty to support, exhibit compassion and empathy toward individuals like my brother, particularly the elderly. Therefore, this petition is seeking to mandate all courts of law around the world to prioritize and expediently address pending cases of any relief, such as old age or disability pensions, for all mentally unstable and physically challenged survivors over the age of 60.
As the largest democracy in the world today, India has the capability to lead the globe by example through the execution of quick-track and in-camera virtual hearings, (in all of the executive to judicial processes required to be followed) taking full advantage of digital support systems. Given that technology offers us the tools to make significant strides in societal progress, it is essential we use these devices to assist the most vulnerable among us.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 15% of the world's population, over a billion people, have some form of disability, among them the elderly are significantly misunderstood and unsupported. This worrisome data strengthens the urgency of our call to action.
Let our collective voice be heard, and together we can ensure that law courts globally realize the importance and urgency of these cases. Sign this petition to show your support for our cause to offer speedy legal relief to disabled and elderly survivors worldwide.
