Many Americans struggle to pay rent, bills, car payments, gas, taxes, and any unforeseen expenses. These do not include one thing, which is essential to life: food. If we can help more Americans afford food, this would make the rest of their lives easier and better for them and their children. Providing food for those who are in need is not only the right thing to do, but it is important in helping our community.  SNAP has shown it’s effective at helping families not starve. However, current income eligibility limits prevent many struggling households from receiving assistance, even though their earnings are not enough to cover the rising cost of living. We can help the American people by increasing the income eligibility cap for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Helping other people eat is one of the most important life-saving things we can do.
