As a concerned California resident, I want to advocate for greater accessibility to healthcare services, specifically by encouraging all primary care physicians, specialists and clinics to offer weekend hours.

Many individuals, including working professionals, caregivers, and students, struggle to attend medical appointments during standard weekday hours. Especially working professionals who might not have PTO available. This often results in delayed care, increased emergency room visits which can have a high copay, and overall reduced preventive health engagement.

Expanding availability to include weekend hours would significantly improve access, patient outcomes, and convenience. I believe this initiative could be piloted in partnership with local healthcare providers and supported through state-level incentives or policies encouraging flexible scheduling.

I would like to ask for your support in exploring solutions to make weekend healthcare access a reality for Californians. We shouldn’t have to be forced to choose between our jobs and our health.
