As someone who has witnessed the vulnerability of senior citizens in the face of technology, we see it as a personal mission to enhance the security of those using WhatsApp. It is a known fact that 46% of WhatsApp users have fallen victim to scams (Statista, 2021).

WhatsApp, cherished by many, particularly senior citizens, for its ease of use and familiarity, has unfortunately become a playground for fraudsters. Truecaller, a service renowned for its ability to thwart scams, is currently limited to normal calls only. This limitation severely cripples its ability to mitigate scams which occur via WhatsApp.

In light of this, we call for an expansion of Truecaller's services to include WhatsApp. This step has the potential to drastically curb scams and make WhatsApp a safer platform, especially for our susceptible senior population.
