As a resident of Staten Island, I am personally affected by the limited public transportation options available. Currently, the Staten Island railway only runs along the East Shore, forcing many of us to rely on MTA Buses. These buses are often late and crowded, causing inconvenience and additional expenses for us.

Our proposal is to expand our railway system with three new lines: Charleston to New Springville to Bayonne railway; Bay Ridge to Westerleigh to Newark railway; Mariners Harbor to Travis to Woodrow railway. This expansion will not only provide more efficient transport options but also reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in our community.

According to a study by NYU Rudin Center for Transportation Policy & Management, improved public transportation can lead up 30% reduction in carbon emissions in urban areas (NYU Rudin Center Study). Additionally, it can save residents an average of $10,000 per year on transportation costs (American Public Transportation Association).

We believe that this expansion will greatly benefit all residents of Staten Island by providing more reliable and cost-effective public transport options. It's time we invest in our community's future and make commuting easier for everyone.
