As a lifelong fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, I am deeply passionate about the franchise and its games. However, my enthusiasm has been dampened by Sega/Sega Hardlight's decision to limit the release of Sonic Dream Team exclusively to Apple Arcade. This decision restricts many fans like myself who use Android, PC or Switch devices from enjoying this game.

Sonic is a beloved character with millions of fans worldwide. According to Statista, as of 2020, there were approximately 2.87 billion smartphone users globally with Android holding 72% market share (Statista). This means that a significant portion of potential players are being excluded from experiencing Sonic Dream Team due to their choice in technology.

Furthermore, limiting access not only affects fans but also impacts Sega's potential profits. The global video game market was worth $159 billion in 2020 (Newzoo), and by restricting access to one platform, Sega is missing out on a substantial portion of this lucrative market.

I understand that there may be contractual or technical reasons behind this exclusivity; however, I believe it would be beneficial for both Sega and its loyal fanbase if they could find ways around these issues.

We urge Sega/Sega Hardlight to consider releasing Sonic Dream Team on other platforms such as Android, PC and Switch so that more fans can enjoy this game - even if it means we have to pay for it. Please sign this petition if you agree.
