Hello Fellow Aquatic Community,
Our community has received very disappointing news about the future of the Green Lake Pool. The latest proposed design is a step backward for aquatics. Instead of building a new aquatic facility, the proposal would retain the existing Evans Pool building and only renovate it.
Now, more than ever, we need our community to show up at 10 a.m. on Saturday. We need to make it clear that Seattle needs a larger pool with at least 8 lanes. We also need to demonstrate strong community support for removing the historic designation from the Evans building if that is necessary to make a larger pool possible.
Please join us on Saturday and bring your family, friends, teammates, and neighbors. Let Councilmember Dan Strauss and Seattle Parks and Recreation see that the Seattle aquatics community supports a larger pool that can meet the needs of our growing city.
Every person in the room makes a difference. I hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
Allie Bacharach
