(ES) El barrio Turianova, adyacente a Malilla en Valencia, España, ha estado desconectado de la ciudad durante más de dos años. Actualmente hay más de 1000 vecinos que tienen que caminar más de 20 minutos para llegar a una parada de autobús, 35 para médicos, 30 para un supermercado, etc. Este problema se agrava aún más por el puente con un alto ascenso que dificulta el tránsito peatonal especialmente para las personas mayores y/o movilidad reducida que viven en el barrio.

La falta de transporte público adecuado no solo hace la vida diaria inconveniente para los residentes del barrio sino también limita su acceso a oportunidades laborales locales y servicios esenciales en el centro urbano. Además, este problema va en contra del objetivo declarado por el Ayuntamiento Valencia sobre promover una movilidad sostenible y accesible para todos (Ayuntamiento Valencia).

Previamente se paraba la Linea 8 en la rotonda, con pocas personas usando el servicio. Cuando empezaron a edificar este barrio, suspendieron este servicio, que todavía no se ha restablecido.

Por lo tanto, pedimos firmas para solicitar a EMT Valencia y el Ayuntamiento de Valencia que extienda alguna línea existente o cree una nueva línea que conecte Turianova con el resto de la ciudad. Esta acción mejorará significativamente la calidad de vida y las oportunidades disponibles para los residentes del barrio.

(EN) The Turianova neighborhood, adjacent to Malilla in Valencia, Spain, has been disconnected from the city for over two years. Currently, there are more than 1000 neighbors who have to walk more than 20 minutes to reach a bus stop, 35 minutes to get to a doctor´s office, and 30 minutes to reach a supermarket, among other places. This problem is further exacerbated by a steep bridge that hinders pedestrian traffic, especially for older people and those with reduced mobility who live in the neighborhood.

The lack of adequate public transportation not only makes daily life inconvenient for the neighborhood residents but also limits their access to local job opportunities and essential services in the urban center. Additionally, this issue contradicts the stated goal of the Valencia City Council to promote sustainable and accessible mobility for all (Ayuntamiento Valencia).

Previously, Line 8 used to stop at the roundabout, with very few people using the service. When they began constructing this neighborhood, they suspended this service, which has not yet been reinstated.

Therefore, we are requesting signatures to urge EMT Valencia and the City council to extend an existing line or create a new line that connects Turianova with the rest of the city. This action will significantly improve the quality of life and available opportunities for the neighborhood residents.
