It is my job to manage traffic and ensure safety at various sites. Currently, delivery drivers are exempt from using seatbelts while performing their duties, but traffic management professionals are not. This discrepancy poses a significant risk to those of us who need to frequently enter and exit our vehicles while setting up and managing sites.

Traffic management professionals often work in hazardous conditions where quick mobility is crucial for both personal safety and the efficiency of the job. The current law does not account for these unique circumstances, potentially putting lives at risk.

We urge lawmakers to amend the existing regulations to include traffic management professionals in the seatbelt exemption law, similar to delivery drivers. This change will help protect those who work tirelessly to keep our roads safe.
