Keep Sudan Connected – A Humanitarian Appeal to Starlink
We call on Starlink and SpaceX to grant Sudan a temporary humanitarian exemption from the 30-day international roaming restriction under the Roam Unlimited service plan.

Since April 2023, Sudan has faced a devastating armed conflict that has severely disrupted telecommunications infrastructure and left many communities struggling to access reliable internet connectivity.

For many Sudanese families, students, healthcare workers, businesses, and displaced communities, Starlink provides an essential connection to the outside world.

Internet access is not simply a convenience. It helps people contact their loved ones, access emergency information, continue education, support their livelihoods, and coordinate humanitarian assistance.

The 30-day international roaming restriction presents a serious challenge for users in Sudan who rely on Starlink accounts registered in other countries.

Many affected users cannot realistically travel internationally every 30 days to maintain their service.

We respectfully request that Starlink and SpaceX:

Grant a temporary humanitarian exemption for Sudan from the 30-day international roaming limit under Roam Unlimited, wherever legally permissible.
Explore lawful emergency connectivity arrangements that allow affected communities to maintain access to Starlink services.
Review the regulatory and geographic restrictions affecting Starlink connectivity in Sudan.
Provide a practical alternative for affected customers if an immediate exemption cannot be granted.
Issue an official response explaining what steps can be taken to preserve essential connectivity during Sudan's humanitarian crisis.
We recognize Starlink's obligation to comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. This petition seeks a lawful, humanitarian solution.
