Social media has blown up regarding The 100 since the death of Lexa. One look at Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter shows just how much this character is missed. She was a character who had such an impact on so many. While it has already been confirmed Lexa is dead and will not be coming back to the 100 in any capacity,  that does not mean Lexa can’t come back to the CW. The CW is notoriously known for their spinoffs. Smallville lead to The Flash and Arrow. The Vampire Diaries lead to The Originals. There’s nothing saying The 100 couldn’t have it’s own spinoff based on the Grounders and their culture. We all know the impact Lexa had and how many loved everything Lexa stood for. What if the CW created a show that helped us learn so much more about Lexa and the Grounders?

The 100 shows us so much about Skikru, but we still don’t know much about the Grounders. This new show could act as a prequel to The 100. It has been made known several of the writers did not agree with the decision to kill off Lexa, so they could use this as an opportunity to give back to the fans who have given so much to The 100. This could be their chance to make amends for her death and make things right with the fans. The spinoff wouldn’t hurt the 100’s plot because the Grounders is pre-100. It could start with the training for Lexa’s conclave and go from there. We would get to see her training with Gustus, Titus, and Anya. We could see her conclave and rise to power. We could learn about why the Grounders are constantly at war and their backstory. Why they love their current Heda and the ones who came before her.  Everything about their language, the city of Polis, their tattoos and scars, and how all of that came to be. We could see Lexa’s relationship with Costia and the death of Costia. We could see how her death caused Lexa to become closed off and ruthless, but how she kept peace with the Ice Nation and the clans. We could see why the Ice Nation didn’t approve of Lexa in the first place. There’s so much to know. There are 12 clans that we really know nothing about. The Grounders spinoff could be our insight into all of that, with Lexa at the front and center. Who doesn’t want to know more about Gustus and Anya since we didn’t get to know much about them? Who knows more about the Grounders and Polis than the current writers? There's so much potential. There are so many Lexa fans and the 100 fans that would love to see more about these clans and their backstory. This could be the chance. The CW told Jason to keep making bold choices, they may love the idea of this bold spinoff. If you’re at all interested please sign this petition. There is so much to learn about these amazing clans and people. Show the CW that the success of the 100 can also be seen in the spinoff. 

To the CW: I know you have heard and read all of the feedback regarding the 100 3x07 and the death of Lexa. You have seen how much a single character has had an impact on your group of viewers. Please consider this spinoff. It would of course require the agreement of Alycia, but you already have such an amazing set of writers who could help drive this new series. The groundwork has already been set. We just need you to make it a reality. Please listen to the numerous fans of Lexa and the Grounders.

Lexa may be gone in the 100 and they say she’ll always be in our hearts, but what’s a better way to honor her than to allow her story and her people’s story to be told to an amazing set of fans? Let’s make “The Grounders” a reality!
