I am deeply affected by the ongoing violence in Palestine, where thousands of innocent children, journalists, and residents of Gaza are being actively bombed and occupied. The pain they endure is unimaginable and it's time we take a stand against this injustice.

Israel's participation in Eurovision 2024 would be a blatant disregard for these atrocities. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has previously taken action against countries violating human rights; Russia was banned from participating in the contest in 2022 due to their invasion of Ukraine.

According to Gaza’s ministry of health, at least 22,835 Palestinians had been killed by yesterday, with another 58,416 reportedly injured. About 7,000 more are reportedly missing and most are likely dead. That figure does not distinguish between combatants and civilians, but an estimated 70% are women and children, children who should be playing and learning rather than living under constant fear.

The EBU has a responsibility to uphold its values of "universality and inclusivity" as stated in their own mission statement. By allowing Israel to participate despite ongoing human rights violations against Palestinians, they are failing these principles.

We urge the EBU not only for fairness but also for justice - exclude Israel from Eurovision 2024 until they cease their violent actions against Palestinian people. Please sign this petition if you believe that music events like Eurovision should not be platforms for countries committing such grave injustices.
