Remove James Marion Sims statue from Alabama State capital

Remove James Marion Sims statue from Alabama State capital
The Issue
Granted James M. Sims was the most accredited American surgeon of the 19th century, it was at the expense of countless African American women and children. These HUMANS were disposed of in massive graves as if they never existed. His practices were just as inhumane and unethical as Nazi Doctor, Josef Mengele. He not only performed surgeries WITHOUT anesthesia, but spread the belief that Black women could not feel pain. Hence, us being his preference of choice for experimentation. Once he’d perfected his craft in the U.S, Sims would then go on to relocate in Europe, where the same procedures were offered to wealthy white women with anesthesia. Every woman should stop and think of the agony endured by these helpless, voiceless, forgotten women. Many died excruciating deaths at the hands of Sims. EVERY human has the capacity to feel pain. Allowing his statue to remain in tact is proof of this! Help me remove the painful reminder of how undervalued the Black woman’s life is and has been in America by signing this petition. BLACK WOMEN MATTER. BLACK LIVES MATTER.
