These three 100+year old Elms are one example of trees in danger of being removed by HRM for a concrete cycling curbside approach to an intersection. They stand tall, healthy and majestically, as the only trees in the immediate area. It is imperative they remain so. Their canopies grace this intersection with their beauty, shade, character and provide us with all the benefits we've come to appreciate and respect them for. Without their presence we would face just another banal concrete corner and intersection. Options and consideration to provide a safe cycling intersection approach can be done, without destroying any trees.
