You got us to 300!

The momentum keeps growing and we are so grateful for the support! 

With the petition (then at 200 signatures) delivered to the Diego Martin Regional Corporation, I have a commitment from the Councillor that she will liaise with the DMRC's Health Department to determine what animal control equipment they have in stock, and from the Chairman that he will use that information in discussions with the TTSPCA to work out an arrangement for the reinstitution of dog-catching services to start.

In terms of the expansion of services provided by the Corporation (rescue, impounding, etc.), we plan to attend the monthly statutory Council meeting (due in June) to ensure the matter is thoroughly addressed in that forum. 

Not forgetting the reason for the petition, #JusticeforToro, I also have the Chairman's commitment to alert the Inspector in charge of the region's Municipal Police to liaise with their colleagues at West End to bring a resolution to the matter. To date, I am yet to receive a satisfactory update from anyone at the station, far less from the Sergeant to whom I made the initial report on 11 May.

Please continue to share the petition as we remain focused on the ultimate objective - an Animal Control Unit for the Diego Martin Regional Corporation. All in the hope that similar Units are established throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

We've attached the article, published in the Newsday on 16 May that caught the attention of so many. When we begin to see tangible progress, there will be another!
