Every Child Matters – Let’s Build a Better System
The Issue
Every Child Matters – Let’s Build a Better System
Because support should come before separation.
Right now in the UK, too many children are being failed by a system that acts too late and too harshly. Families are left without early support, and children are removed based on fear—not facts.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Imagine a system where:
Social workers are based in every school, offering daily support
Families get help early—before things fall apart
Investigations are swift, fair, and trauma-informed
Children are seen for their strengths, not statistics
Bullied children are respected and supported—including the right to be homeschooled when school is no longer a safe space
Support replaces suspicion—and compassion replaces crisis
The truth is:
Over 100,000 children are in care in the UK
The majority of funding goes to late intervention, not prevention
Families face long investigations, even when no harm is found
Children are too often removed based on “risk,” not reality
We’re calling for urgent change:
✅ School-based social workers nationwide
✅ Mandatory early support before child removal
✅ Clear, time-limited investigations
✅ The right for bullied children to be safely homeschooled
✅ Accountability for unnecessary removals
✅ Reinvestment into public care services—not private profit
Let’s put children first—where they belong.
