Yesterday morning I went public with my story, breaking it in the Sydney Morning Herald, and I can’t believe the response. Before I knew it I was on The Project, my story was in every outlet across the country, trending across Twitter and making headlines globally, even reaching the New York Times! Then this afternoon in response to our petition, Tasmanian Opposition Leader Rebecca White made this commitment, “I stand with Angela and will keep arguing for affordable, safe access for Tasmanian women to a legal health procedure until we achieve it.” This is incredible. It shows that people are listening to us, and our pressure is working. Just three days ago I felt powerless and so alone, but in just 24 hours more than 22,000 of you have shown me that I am neither. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. We can’t stop here. The last two days are proof that our campaign for equal, accessible healthcare for all women is working, now we need to go harder.
