Hi all – I’m so pleased to wake up and see that we’re nearly at 30k signatures and that my petition is still growing! Thank you so much for your support and messages. But this campaign is not just about me, it’s about every women. I’ve gone public with my story and I’m running this campaign because access to healthcare should be equal and accessible to every woman – no matter where they live. That’s why I’m calling on the Tasmanian government to urgently provide State wide access to abortion services in public hospitals and why I'm asking you to take the next step in our campaign. Please take a moment to email Premier Will Hodgman right now and ask him why his government thinks it is acceptable that the women of Tasmania are denied basic medical care? will.hodgman@dpac.tas.gov.au You might also like to tell him why this issue matters to you, and remind him that as the Premier of Tasmania he alone can intervene to make sure women needing a termination don’t need to fly interstate, away from their support networks and at great expense like I had to. We know that our campaign is rattling the Tasmanian government. Health Minister Michael Ferguson and the Premier were both forced to make public statements on my case, and the media attention has meant that their offices are under increased scrutiny. Now is the perfect time to ramp up the pressure on Will Hodgman, who is already feeling the heat on his failure to deliver this vital service to Tasmania. Please take a few minutes now to email will.hodgman@dpac.tas.gov.au it doesn’t have to be long, but every email is counted and registered. Thank you again for all your support, Angela
