Car Week is starting

This was just posted on FaceBook by the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca: "The Week is upon us! Come join us Friday from 5-7 p.m. on Alvarado Street in downtown Monterey for our free annual Race Car Show. There is still no mention of fire on the Monterey Car Week website either, nor any explanation of ways in which the event might be modified to address fire related concerns. I continue to hope that generous actions like the Ferrari people's plan to auction a car to benefit relief efforts at the Barnyard event will proliferate, and I hope that event organizers and Monterey County will take steps to collect some actual data about the impacts of Car Week so we can move towards overall coordination in the future. In the mean time, let's keep reminding everyone involved that there is a fire, it is affecting people, and it isn't out yet.
