It's making headlines all over the world: 10 tigers have been intercepted at the border between Poland and Belarus in horrible conditions

The tigers, almost certainly coming from an Italian circus, were on their way to Russia. They had left Italy on October 22nd, transported by a company specialized in horses in completely unsuitable cages and crates, but were stopped at the Polish border because of incorrect permits. After the death of one of the animals the authorities decided to seize the tigers until further notice. According to a local veterinarian, the deceased tiger suffered from intestinal problems, which could be the result of incorrect and insufficient food. On Wednesday evening, the animals were taken to Poznan Zoo in Poland, for first aid and rest. Once the authorities give permission, at least five of the tigers will be moved to AAP Primadomus in Spain. The other animals will probably remain in zoos in Poland.

There was no good reason for this hell.

These animals should have never been allowed to perform in circuses, let alone be moved from country to country in sub-standard conditions. This is all happening here, in the European Union.

We urgently need the European Union to ban the use of wild animals in circuses.

The new European Commission is being installed tomorrow. Let them know that Europeans have had enough of animal abuse for entertainment purposes.

We're less than 130.000 signatures away from 1 million. Please share this petition and send a strong welcome message to the new Commission.
