Dear Supporters The photo shows the Chair of the Petitions Committee PETI Cecilia Wikstrom MEP for Sweden. This Plenary Debate was the outcome of hundreds of petitions submitted to her Committee which collaborated with the Committee of Legal Affairs JURI, chaired by Pavel Svoboda, MEP for the Czech Republic. Here's the link to the one-hour debate: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/sides/getVod.do?mode=chapter&language=EN&vodDateId=20160427-21:06:17-875# And here is the Resolution that was adopted by Parliament: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/sides/getDoc.do?type=TA&language=EN&reference=P8-TA-2016-0142 Its last point instructs the President of the Parliament to forward this resolution to 1. the Council [Ministers of Member States] 2. the Commission [administration comparable to Whitehall] 3. the governments and 4. the Parliaments of the 28 Member States. The Commissioner Vera Jourova has committed herself to deliver a revision of the Brussels II regulation that is currently in place, by the end of June. All in all, it is clear there is good will all around and the problems have been recognised. Over to you to make use of this debate with your MP or MEP. Remember that www.WriteToThem.com is the easiest way to find out who they are and how to contact them. We're a long way from STOPPING what Ian Josephs called Britain's 'biggest ever scandal and its best kept secret': http://newsvideo.su/video/4092171 But: RETURNING 'abducted' children has been spelled out quite clearly, too! Let's watch this space and keep on going! Onwards and Upwards! Belinda and Sabine
