RTE's Morning Ireland ran a piece on the French leaseback issues experience by hundreds of Irish people on May 30th. In the piece, Brian Hayes MEP, stated that "the rules of the game apply to everyone and I think its important to remind people that there are specific EU obligations, there are specific EU laws and directives that can help Irish people, and other people, and we should enforce them". For those who aren't familiar, Morning Ireland is Ireland's national broadcaster's prime time morning current affairs program. The piece finishes with the CCPC (Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) asking anyone affected by these issues to put their complaint in writing and they will carry out an assessment of the complaints related to the scheme.
