I am a resident of Johns Island, SC, and like many others, I am increasingly frustrated by the unbearable traffic congestion we face daily. Our community is growing rapidly, but our infrastructure has not kept pace. The time has come to establish two full lanes off Johns Island on Maybank Highway.

Johns Island is one of the largest islands in the United States and home to over 20,000 residents. Despite this population size and growth rate, our roadways have remained largely unchanged for decades. This lack of development has led to significant traffic congestion that affects all who live or work here.

The current single lane on Maybank Highway cannot accommodate the volume of vehicles that use it daily. This results in long delays during peak hours which affect productivity and quality of life for residents.

By establishing two full lanes off Johns Island on Maybank Highway, we can significantly reduce travel times for thousands of people every day. This will not only improve our daily commutes but also stimulate local businesses by making them more accessible.

We urge local authorities to prioritize this project as part of their infrastructure development plans for Johns Island. It's time we had a roadway system that meets our needs as a growing community.
