The Issue

Speaking from a personal place, I understand all too well the struggles faced by therians in regular schools. As a therian, I can vouchsafe that the journey is not an easy one. We constantly face misconceptions, social stigma, and bullying. Our identities, often misunderstood, become a source of derision in traditional educational spaces.

The traumatic impacts of this bullying are signficant - studies show that young people who identify as therian and face ongoing victimization are at increased risk of emotional distress and mental health issues (Source: Journal of Adolescence). This has to stop. To this end, a fundamental change is needed in our education system. We advocate for the establishment of dedicated a couple Therian Schools in every state.

These schools will provide a nurturing, understanding environment where therians can learn and grow without fear of persecution or prejudice. They would focus on fostering acceptance, understanding, and mutual respect among therian and non-therian students alike. These schools will serve not just as educational establishments, but safe spaces for therian children to express their identities without judgment or harassment.

The institution of Therian specific schools will seem like a step toward segregation to some. However, we want to reassure that it's not for exclusion, but for creating inclusive environments for an ostracized group until the society understands and respects our choice of identity.

Getting these schools up and running in every state is a considerable task and we need your support to set this change in motion. Therefore, stand with us, spread the word, challenge the status quo and above all, sign this petition. Show the world that a more understanding, inclusive society is possible and needed now more than ever.
