Establish the Third Monday of March as National Relax Day

Establish the Third Monday of March as National Relax Day
The Issue
As an individual deeply conscious of the need for rest amidst our fast-paced lives, I believe March is the perfect month to dedicate a day for relaxation, specifically making every 3rd Monday of March the 'National Relax Day'. Currently, March is devoid of substantive holidays where individuals can take a break from their strenuous work or school schedules.
Research supports the importance of taking time to relax. It shows a correlation between relaxation and increased productivity and mental health. The American Psychological Association reports that stress is a major contributing factor to mental health issues. They suggest leisure activities as a means to reduce stress (APA, 2019).
Designating the third Monday of March as 'National Relax Day' could help mitigate the increasing rates of stress and burnout experienced by many, allowing for a more balanced, healthier society specifically around a time of year when there's no long break from work or academic commitments.
This is more than just a personal request, it’s a public health necessity. Let's rally for national recognition of this much-needed day of relaxation! Sign this petition to support making every third Monday of March a day off for everyone to relax and rejuvenate.
